Mr Gopal Das is the Director (HRD) in BSNL. He is responsible for formulating and implementing policies pertaining to personnel, industrial relations, training, restructuring and other human resource-related affairs.
Prior to this, Mr DAS was Chief General Manager (Wireless Services) in Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) at Mumbai, and before this, he worked in the Department of Telecommunications (in the government of India) through the Indian Telecommunications Services Group 'A' Service.
While in the Department of Telecommunications and at MTNL, he worked in various capacities - as Area Director, General Manager and Chief General Manager, and possesses wide experience in operations, maintenance and telecom network development.
Mr Das received training in Operations and Maintenance of Electronic Exchanges in France and became one of the members of the Special Study Group in ITU for Mobile Networks relating to IMT 2000 and beyond. He was the Project Director for the handling of various telecom projects in the city of Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He also worked in Nigeria for three years as Project Director and handled many optical fibre and transmission projects there.
Mr Das was actively involved in the initial planning, installation and operations of MTNL Mumbai's GSM network. As Chief General Manager of Wireless Services, he was also responsible for planning the installation, operation and maintenance of MTNL's CDMA network which contributed to the rapid growth of wireless services at MTNL.
Mr Das has a Bachelor of Engineering degree (with honours) from Banaras Hindu University.
Benjamin Ho joined Far EasTone Telecommunications Co. Ltd in 2003 and is currently Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Development . Prior to joining FET, he was Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Motorola Asia Pacific Ltd , where he led the company's consumer marketing activities, including sales and product strategy, branding and advertising, business development, customer insights and relationship management in the Asia Pacific rim, including China, Hong Kong, South East Asia, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and Australia. Additionally, Benjamin has extensive experience in international marketing and advertising industry. He is seasoned in marketing planning, new business development and strategic consulting. Prior to joining Motorola Asia, Benjamin held executive positions at BBDO Worldwide Greater China and Dentsu Young & Rubicam International.
After joining Far EasTone Telecommunications Co Ltd, Benjamin led FET to achieve numerous global, regional and local marketing and advertising awards such as the 19th London International Award, the 8th Asia Pacific Advertising Festival, the LongXi Asia Pacific Award, the China Times Click Awards and the 28th China Times Award. When Far EasTone Telecommunications and KG Telecommunications merged in 2004, Benjamin also led FET to gain a special recognition from GTV for the Best Merger & Integration Marketing Campaign Award.
Andrew Kwok is the Vice President of International Business Division at Hutchison Telecommunications (Hong Kong) Limited ("HTHK"), a subsidiary of Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited ("Hutchison Telecom"; SEHK: 2332; NYSE: TTX ). Hutchison Telecom is a leading telecommunications operator focusing on dynamic markets.
Andrew joined HTHK in 2002 and has since then spearheaded the development of the Company's International Business Division. Today, HTHK has an extensive business presence around the world including eleven offices in Asia and one in the United States. Currently, he manages international mobile and fixed business operations of the company.
Andrew is a veteran in the international telecommunications industry with more than 20 years of experience. Prior to joining HTHK in 2002, he oversaw Teleglobe's operations in Asia covering more than 15 countries in the region, served the position of Vice President & Managing Director for Asia. Andrew also held a variety of management positions at MCI International in Asia, Hong Kong Telecom International and Cable & Wireless (HK).
Dr. Kaizad B. Heerjee has been the Deputy President Director since December 2006. Prior to joining Indosat, he was the Senior Vice President of International Operations and Business Development at Singapore Technologies Telemedia (ST Telemedia). He was also the Senior Vice President & Head of Business Markets at StarHub Ltd from 2003 to 2005 and Assistant Chief Executive of Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore from 2000 to 2003.
He has also spent over 10 years with Compaq Computers and Digital Equipment Corporations in various senior positions including management, sales and marketing, and technical, across their Asia-Pacific, North America and Europe operations. Dr. Heerjee has a Doctorate degree in Computer Science and Master's degree in Information Technology from the UK, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from India.
Dr. Won-sic HAHN is currently Senior Vice President in KT, responsible for Mobile Data Business. Under this role, he is in charge of mobile data planning, messaging, roaming service, mobile contents, mobile convergence, and so on.
Dr. HAHN started his career in IT industry at KT in 1985, and has vast experience and expertise in convergence and FMC service. After becoming VP in 2002, he has been in charge of ubiquitous convergence service. He also worked in the financial management office after the merger of KT and KTF in 2009. In 2010, he became the head of Mobile Data Business of Personal Customer Group currently.
Mr. HAHN mastered MBA course in Seoul National University, and received Ph.D in Physics in Univ. of Paris 6, France.
Mr. Kuldip Singh is Chairman & Managing Director, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd. He also holds the charge of Director (Technical) and is responsible for the long term and strategic planning as well as induction of technologies.
Mr. Singh has been on the Board of MTNL for more than 5 years. Earlier to that he has worked in various capacities in the Department of Telecommunication, National Informatics Centre in their computer networking project and Overseas Communication Service (now VSNL).
Mr. Singh has more than 35 years experience in telecommunication and IT that includes Computer Networking, Digital Switching, Telecom Training, Development of Telecom Software etc. He was actively involved in implementing the liberalization policy of the government for the telecom sector.
Mr. Singh holds Engineering and Master in Business Administration degrees.
Mr. Kunieda currently has an overall responsibility of global business strategy at NTTDoCoMo. In this capacity, he made a lot of investments in Asian mobile operators and peripheral business, as well as succeeded in establishing and driving Conexus Mobile Alliance. Prior to his appointment at NTTDoCoMo, he had been responsible for various divisions of NTT Group such as R&D, network strategy & planning, procurement and human resource development over the past twenty-five years, in addition to the three-year term engagement as Telecom Specialist at the World Bank in Washington DC. He received a BS in Electronics Engineering from University of Tokyo, and a MS in Engineering Management from Stanford University, USA.
Mr. Alejandro O. Caeg is Head of International and Carrier Business Division of SMART Communications, Inc., the Philippines' leading wireless services provider. He is also the concurrent
First Vice President/Head of the International and Carrier Business Group of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, the largest and most diversified telecommunications company in the Philippines.
His expertise include mobile services distribution, fixed broadband services, overseas telco ventures, fixed lines and international services, mobile VAS and MCommerce trade, vendor negotiations, emerging revenue generators as MVNOs and mobile broadband.
He was part of SMART as Group Head for Customer Care back in 1997 before transferring to Sales
and Distribution in 2002. He has experience in sales and marketing management, C-level relationship management, product and business development for new markets, customer service interface and customer retention, project management, business operations and continuity, trade alliances, as well as business risk management.
After his previous stint with SMART, he became the Chief Commercial Strategy Officer of PT Smart Indonesia, a 100%-owned telecom subsidiary of one of Indonesia’s biggest conglomerates (the Grup Sinar Mas) that rolled out a nationwide CDMA network together with an EVDO Rev. A data implementation.
He graduated at the De La Salle University with a degree in Applied Economics and took up MBA from the same university. He is also a Management Development Program candidate of the Asian Institute
of Management, Manila.
Chan Kin Hung is the current Chairman of Conexus Mobile Alliance, Asia's largest mobile alliance which was formed in April 2006 to enhance members' competitiveness in international roaming and corporate mobile services in their own countries/regions and across Asia- Pacific. In his own capacity at StarHub, Chan Kin Hung is responsible for leveraging StarHub's current skills and capabilities in creating new revenue streams, with focus in convergence opportunities primarily in the mobile and broadband services.
Prior to his current appointment at StarHub, Kin Hung was responsible for the strategic direction and operations of StarHub's mobile services. He joined StarHub in January 2001, bringing with him more than 15 years of product development, marketing, sales and general management experience in the computer and telecommunications industry. Kin Hung has been instrumental to StarHub's first-to-market of innovative mobile services, driving the company's growth in the mobile space in the past five years and capturing more than 30 percent of market share. Kin Hung received a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor as well as a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Supoj is the Head of International Roaming business unit of TrueMove, one of the largest mobile operators in Thailand. Within the first year of heading the team, he was responsible for driving cumulative growth for TrueMove’s International Roaming revenue to more than 100% and for creating recognition of the TrueMove brand in the international roaming industry. He oversaw Treasury Operations, Wholesale Sales, Organizational Strategic Development, and Corporate Planning in True Group prior to his present post. Supoj’s background in Computer Engineering and Business Administration has given him opportunities to gain diversified experiences from IBM World Trade Asia Corporation, IBM Thailand, and Thai Airways International, before he joined True Group.
Mr Lam Hoang Vinh is Vice President of VNPT and Managing Director of VinaPhone, with over 26 years of experience in the Vietnam telecommunications industry. He currently oversees VinaPhone's 2,000 staff-strong operations which, since launch, has captured over 31% of the Vietnam mobile market, with over 23 million mobile subscribers. Mr Vinh was instrumental in launching VinaPhone's 3G services in Vietnam – the first operator to do so in the country.
Mr Vinh started working for Vietnam Post and Telecommunications group (VNPT) in 1983. He became deputy managing director for Vietnam Telecom International Company from 1990 and then director of International Business Co-operation, VNPT from 1996. He has been VNPT Vice President since 2004 and became VinaPhone's current managing director from 2008.
